Matze Koch is a renowned German spin fishing world champion and one of Balzer’s first “pro testers” of gear before being launched. He was personally involved in the development process of the BALZER MK Adventure reels right from the beginning; this enabled him to contribute in all aspects of the development process. Matze Koch deemed it important that, first and foremost, the reels should be designed entirely for practical use and not be equipped with any unnecessary features and components that might compromise the reel's long-term reliability.

The reels therefore manage with only 6 exceptionally high-quality bearings which make these reels to run as smooth as silk. No ball-bearing mania! Other important points in Matze's conceptual view were: excellent line lay as well as an extremely precise, powerful and smooth drag as well as sturdy, vibration free but at the same time low weight. It goes without saying that they also look good.

Other technical features include S Stroke System for optimal line lay, TTC (total tolerance control): any conceived tolerances of the crank, gear and drags are reduced to a minimum, SBS ( strong bail concept), QSS ( Quick Stop system) to stop the rotor instantaneously, ASS ( anti swing system), prevents undesirable vibrations, Finely adjustable drag (SDS) with extra-large brake discs, anti-twist line roller, aluminium spool, CNC cut aluminium power crank, etc.
